Simone Mizeur Mehta

The arrival of our daughter Simone has prompted me to restart the blog posts to help keep everyone updated on all her cuteness and our new adventures as parents.

Here are some photos from her arrival!!

Leaving for the hospital-New Year's Eve

So we had dinner plans with Evelina, Dave and Joe for New Year's Eve.  After a full day of work and finalizing the nursery when I got home from work we settled in to watch a bit of TV before getting ready.  Simone had other ideas.  My water broke and we had to pack our bags, install the car seat, eat dinner and shower before heading out.  This is hard to do when your back hurts and you are leaking, but we did it!  Word to the wise-eat more than grilled cheese for dinner!

Leaving the house for the hospital

Happy New Year from the Hospital!!

Ready world, here I come...on second thought it is cozy in here!

So after breaking my water the doctors decide I needed petocin to get things moving.  Cool.  No worries.  After a very painful attempt to monitor the baby from inside the uterus, an epidural  another attempt, and 12 hours of petocin, no progress whatsoever.  Not dilated, baby has not dropped.  Hmm.  She was just too comfortable!

So I decide the best option would be to get cut open.  This fit into my birth plan which was arrive with baby inside me, depart with a healthy baby.

Ready for the operating room!

My parents eagerly awaiting the news in the hospital waiting room.  Meanwhile Sandip's parents are boarding a flight to India

It's a Girl!

I'd say about 95% of the people who saw me thought I was carrying a boy.  Surprise!  It is a girl.  I was so happy because our girl names were way better.  Below are some of the best shots from the hospital.

Welcome baby Simone Mizeur Mehta!!

The first ever picture taken of her!  She had to go for extra monitoring because she was too calm.  Lucky us.

She is so tiny!!

Nice on cozy on Sandip.

She's all about facing the morning sun!   "Mommy, did you get my good side?"

Dogball and Duck are ready for you to travel the world with them.  Who will be their buddy?
