brain wheels before mouth wheels

So we just got a new interim leader at the Embassy in New Delhi, called a charge d'affaires (the guy filling it is a retired Ambassador).  I knew this, and he was arriving this week.

I also knew that he was going to see Sandip's section to say hello at 3pm on a certain day.

So at 3:30, this new guy comes into our office, looks like a nice guy and is wearing a bow tie.  I think to myself, oh how cool, a bow-tie guy. I am about to say something like "I love people like you because guys who wear bow-ties are really fun."  I stop myself when I see the 2nd in command at the Embassy right behind him and think to myself this might not be appropriate to say.  The 2nd in command then says "I'd like to introduce the office to the Ambassador."

Dodged a bullet there.  Than you brain wheels for moving faster than mouth wheels.
